Send a text message from your browser
Globfone lets you send an SMS to a supported mobile number from a computer, tablet or phone browser. The recipient receives a text through their mobile network; they do not need to open the Globfone website. No separate messaging app or browser plug-in is needed on your device.
Free SMS availability depends on the destination and the routes currently offered by the service. Check the available countries and networks in the SMS service before composing your message. Coverage and delivery are not guaranteed for every number.
How to send an SMS with Globfone
- Start on Globfone Free. Open the Free services page and choose SMS messaging.
- Sign in and check your account. Complete any verification requested by the service and make sure you have enough free Credits for the selected destination.
- Select the destination country. Enter the recipient's mobile number in the format shown by the service. Check that you have not entered the country code twice.
- Write and review your message. Check the number and text before sending. Long messages or some characters can require more than one SMS segment, so review the displayed limits and Credit requirement.
- Send and check the result. Read the status shown by Globfone. An accepted message does not always mean that the destination network has delivered it.
What to know before you send
- An account is required. The service may request additional verification based on the destination and your account's credibility level.
- Free does not mean unlimited. Daily free Credits and destination availability are limited and may change. Follow the current information shown in the service.
- Delivery can vary. Network filtering, route availability and the recipient's number can affect whether and when a message arrives.
- Use messaging responsibly. Contact people who expect to hear from you. Do not send spam, abusive messages or sensitive account information.

Can I send a text from a computer without installing an app?
Yes. Use a current web browser with an internet connection, then follow the steps above. You still need to sign in and meet the service's current verification and Credit requirements.
Why has my text not arrived?
First check the destination country and number, the status displayed in Globfone and the current network availability. Avoid repeatedly resending the same text while delivery is uncertain. See the Globfone FAQ for more help.
Can the recipient reply through Globfone?
Do not assume that a message sent through the web service creates a two-way SMS conversation. If you need a reply, agree on a suitable way for the recipient to reach you.
